“Prior to arriving here I worked for a company where I wrote my thesis. They offered me a contract to put it into practice. But when they relocated to Amsterdam I decided to look for a new position near to home.” Rick Schoofs has been working as a Junior Account Manager at MCB for a short while now, and hasn’t a moment’s regret about his decision: “I am from Dommelen. Everyone around here has grown up with MCB in the background. I had previously contacted MCB about an intern position, and I heard enthusiastic stories from the employees I knew. So when the vacancy came up, I applied for the position of Junior Account Manager.”
“The application procedure ran quite smoothly, there was an immediate click on both sides. The position is very clear and meets my expectations, I’m involved in sales and online activities. What people had told me about MCB appeared to be the case: the atmosphere is very good and my colleagues are very supportive. You get plenty of space to develop, I have nothing negative to report. Everything is low threshold and you can approach anyone with your questions, there is no such thing as a silly question here. You are offered lots of opportunities, but you do need to take the initiative.”
“The number of orders through the web shop are on the increase, customers need good guidance here. We ask customers what difficulties they encountered and we take note: what they like about the web shop and what they don’t.“
“I am starting to find my feet, I first have to learn about MCB and the article codes. The induction programme really helped me, that is really well constructed: I’m slowly ‘becoming part of the group’. Learning article codes off by heart is not much fun, but it is part of the job: before you can answer customers on the phone, you have to know what you’re talking about.”
“Every week I touch base with my manager Loek Sanner, I get every opportunity to complete offers. They already let me do this on my own, but of course someone else checks them afterwards. I have already completed the first material knowledge training, after this I am to start on Thierry Janssen’s lessons. It’s a busy time for me gaining all this knowledge, haha.”
“That we also share the knowledge from the MCB Campus with customers is typical of MCB, everything is thought through and well organised. You notice that they are investing in you, and in the customers too. And as long as they continue to do so, everything will fall into place.”
